The Honey place was originally a general store and post office.*

Midway BC Gardi 1891. We found this church by turning left at the main intersection, crossing the railroad tracks, turning right, going a short ways, seeing the sign, turning left and following the paved road to the church on the right. [Actually, a nice older man gave us very good directions to each of the churches.] GPS Coordinates: Latitude: 31.54244, Longitude: -81.77667 (according to findagrave.com)

This church is on the right shortly after the main intersection. [The main intersection is where you can see the honey place on the right, heading east.]

To find this church, turn right at the main intersection. It is not far from the intersection on the right.

When we were leaving Gardi, we passed this sign and I made a connection to my Francis Harrison whose home was near Gardi, on the Phinholloway. We turned around for me to get a photo. Is this close to where Francis and his family lived?

Fin?-h￿i, is a town of the Lower Creeks or Seminoles. The name means a high bridge, or a high foot-log. The traders name was ￿High Log￿ (1832). A swamp having the same name, Finholoway Swamp, is in Wayne County, between the lower Altamaha and Satilla rivers in Georgia.

I was researching Indian history for my next novel and came across this site. The above info comes from it. I had wondered where the name, Penholloway, came from.

Their children are: Renold, son, 16; Ethel, dau. 13; Lavonia dau. 12; Ruthie dau 9; and Ernest, son 2. So, Ethel Little (Gill) (my maternal grandmother) is living in Gardi, Wayne, GA. She is 13 and dau to E. L. and Queenie Little. NOW, just grasping at straws ... Is there a creek named for the Little Family ... or is it just a little creek???
